About me

Hello! My name is Dmitri Smirnov.

I am a web designer, front-end developer and UI Architect with over 10 years of professional experience in the web industry. My passion is to design and develop bright useful web sites from concept to completion, including post production site maintenance.

I graduated in 2000, but my professional development is still ongoing. As a front-end developer I try always to be at the cutting edge of industry standards.

What issues does a web developer usually face?

  • writing cross-browser valid code to show the designer's ideas for all users
  • writing SEO-oriented code, with the correct semantic and link relations
  • using microformats, RSS feeds and other aspects to make the web better
  • accessibility for different types of users.

Over my years working on the web I have become an expert in User Interface Design, Usability, Accessibility, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Design and web-standards. I have worked with most popular javascript libraries like JQuery, Prototype JS, Scriptalicous, Mootools and YUI. I have created Ajax applications interacting with JSON and XML formats.

I'm also experienced with server-side technologies like XML/XSLT, PHP, ASPX, SQL. I am really excited by Ruby on Rails and Python frameworks.

I love working in professional agile team, exchange experience and learn new things. I am patient, curious and enthusiastic, giving all to everything I do.

When I am not working, I travel with my family, take lots of photo, go skiing, swimming and diving.
